The following Code of Conduct is designed to enhance and support player development. It is the responsibility of families to ensure that these rules are adhered to in an effort to create a positive, constructive, and professional environment for the entire basketball community.
1. I will ensure that my child arrives at all games and practices on time and I will notify the head coach if my child will be late for or will miss any games or practices with as much advance notice as possible. I will also ensure my child is picked up after all practices and games in a timely fashion.
2. I will ensure that all fees are paid in a timely fashion by E-Transfer.
3. I will remember that children and youth participate in sport for their enjoyment - not my own.
4. I will refrain from coaching players from the sideline during games and practices.
5. I will show appreciation for volunteer coaches, officials, and administrators. Without them there would be no competition.
6. I will ensure that all communication with coaches occurs at least 24 hours after any game.
7. Complaints or issues with teams’ coaches must initially be dealt with Parent(s) & Multiple Coaches. If the issue cannot be resolved from this initial meeting, it can be referred to the Basketball Tillsonburg Executive Committee who will meet with all parties to find a resolution. The decision rendered by the Executive Committee will be final.
8. I will communicate with coaches about any injury that my child sustains and follow the advice of a physician when determining when they are ready to return to play or practice.
9. I understand that language used to manipulate, insult, ridicule, humiliate, control or exhibit disrespect constitutes verbal abuse and violates both this Code of Conduct and the O.B.A.’s Behaviour Guidelines for spectators. I will refrain from making negative comments to players, coaches, the scorers’ table, and game officials.
10. I understand and give permission that my child's name and / or photograph may be used on the Basketball Tillsonburg website or Social Media pages.
11. I understand that my child will not be refunded any of their registration fees if they quit or are expelled from their team, per Executive Committee Decision.
12. Parents acknowledge that playing time on competitive teams is not equal or guaranteed. It is up to each respective head coach as to how they distribute playing on their team.
13. I will not engage in any negative comments about Basketball Tillsonburg, its coaches, parents, players or teams through any social media or networking site.
14. I understand that spectator misbehaviour, including verbal abuse, is grounds for the barring of individuals from all Basketball Tillsonburg sites and events and may also result in the removal of a player from his or her team. I also understand that spectator misbehaviour can result in team suspension, as well as sanctions and fines against the Basketball Tillsonburg under Ontario Basketball’s Fair Flay Policy and Procedures. I agree to indemnify Basketball Tillsonburg for any club fine incurred as a result of my behavior. I also understand that failure to indemnify Basketball Tillsonburg for any such fine will result in the removal of my son or daughter from his or her team.
15. I have read and understand the content, requirements, and expectations of the Parents Code of Conduct as set out above. I have a copy of the Code of Conduct and agree to abide by its provisions at all games, practices, tournaments, and other events that I attend as a Basketball Tillsonburg parent. I understand that if I have questions regarding this policy, I will consult the Executive Committee.
16. Parents that violate the Parent Code of Conduct in any manner may be asked to leave the gym or may be banned from attending future games pending review by the Executive Committee.
17. I understand that if my child transfers to another O.B.A. club a transfer fee may be incurred per O.B.A. Transfer Policy rules.
18. I understand that if I play up an age level for a season because there was no team at my appropriate age level, the following season I must follow the decision of the Executive Committee.
I understand that as part of a team, my teammates and my coaches are affected by my behaviour and attitude. I am prepared to commit myself to my team, work hard at practice, and give my best efforts during games.

2. I will manage my time as best I can to avoid conflicts with games and practices.
3. I will show respect and appreciation for my coaches and club. Without them there would be no team and no competitions.
4. I will show respect for my opponents, opposing coaches, teammates, facilities, the sport of basketball, the decisions of officials and encourage my teammates to do the same.
5. I will encourage my teammates when I am on the floor and on the bench. I will focus on their efforts and performance, rather than on winning and losing.
6. I will not ridicule or criticize my teammates for making a mistake or losing a competition.
7. I will immediately report any injury to my coaching staff, and understand that my return to sport will require a decision between parents, coaches and doctors.
8. I will not engage in any negative comments about the Basketball Tillsonburg, its coaches, parents, players or teams through any social media or networking site.
9. I have discussed this contract with a parent or guardian and agree to abide by the expectations set out above.
10. The use of drugs or alcohol will not be tolerated while representing Basketball Tillsonburg and may lead to suspension or expulsion from my team.
11. I understand that if my coaches determine that I am unfit to participate in any activities due to illness, physical, emotional or other impairment, that I will abide by their decision.
12. I understand that a breach of this Code of Conduct can lead to my suspension or expulsion from my team as determined by the Oxford Attack Basketball Club Executive Committee.
13. I understand that if I play up an age level for a season because there was no team at my appropriate age level, the following season I must follow the decision of the Oxford Attack Basketball Club Executive Committee.

1. I will observe and adhere to Basketball Tillsonburg Mission Statement at all times.
2. I will observe and honour O.B.A.’s rules of fair play at all times.
3. I will provide a positive attitude and environment for players at all times.
4. I will ensure the safety of my players is the number one priority at all times.
5. I will show respect to my opponents, players, officials, parents, club members, and facilities at all times.
6. I will immediately report any serious player injuries to the President and / or Vice President as soon as possible and immediately fill out any injury reports that may be required.
7. I will never be alone with a player without parental consent except in case of emergency.
8. I will ensure that any manager or volunteer adheres to this code of conduct.
9. I will ensure that assistant coaches, managers or volunteers that have not provided an up to date police check will never be left alone with or in charge of players.
10. I will act in a manner that represents me, my players, my team, and Basketball Tillsonburg in a positive way.
11. I will not engage in any negative comments about the Basketball Tillsonburg, its coaches, parents, players or teams through any social media or networking site.
12. I understand that I am responsible for my players at all practices, games, and tournaments. I will not undertake any activity during these times that will have a negative impact and/or reflect poorly on the players, parents and the Basketball Tillsonburg organization as a whole. Infringement of this policy will be evaluated and dealt with by the Executive Committee.
13. Coaches will report to club executives when there are suspected issues of player abuse or mental instability.
14. Coaches agree that they will only participate in events if they are Mentally, Emotionally, Physically fit to Coach.
